For optimal results, place the compression on a microwave-safe plate and heat it for twenty seconds, perform a touch test by resting the inside of the wrist on the heated compress. If the Viva Dry Eye Therapy Compress isn't to the desired temperature heat it in the microwave in five-second increments, without exceeding thirty seconds. Once heated, the compress can be applied to the eyes for 10-15 minutes, once a day, or as directed by a healthcare professional. While applying the compress, warn patients to be careful not to strap the band on too tight around the head, as it puts added pressure on the eyeballs. It is recommended for patients to be in a reclined position during treatment with the Viva Dry Eye Therapy Compress. If preferred patients can wear the Viva Dry Eye Therapy Compress without the strap.
